About the chamber
A criminal litigation practice run from Chamber No. 611 at the Patiala House Courts Complex, New Delhi.
Advocate Ankesh Singh
The chamber is led by Advocate Ankesh Singh, who practises principally in criminal defence and is also eligible to appear before the Supreme Court of India. The day-to-day work is bail, trial and the proceedings that surround them — the applications that decide whether a person stays in custody, and the cross-examination that decides what the record finally contains.
What the chamber does
The core of the practice is criminal defence, conducted from the accused's side at every stage:
- Anticipatory bail, regular bail and the conditions attached to them
- Proceedings under the POCSO Act before the designated Special Courts
- Matters under the NDPS Act, at bail and at trial
- Cyber fraud matters, including frozen and lien-marked bank accounts
- Proclaimed offender proceedings and custody parole
- Criminal revisions and appeals before the higher courts
The chamber also handles matrimonial disputes, property matters, corporate disputes, and customs and DRI matters, including passenger matters arising at Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Courts
The chamber is located inside the Patiala House Courts Complex, and matters are handled across the Delhi district courts — Patiala House, Tis Hazari, Karkardooma, Saket, Dwarka, Rohini and Rouse Avenue — as well as before the Delhi High Court.
Matters from other states are taken up before the Supreme Court of India and before the concerned High Court or district court, either directly or in coordination with local counsel.
How the chamber works with you
Criminal matters are frightening largely because they are opaque. The chamber's working practice is to tell you what stage the matter is at, what the next date is for, and what the realistic range of outcomes is — including when that range is not good. You will not be promised a result, because no advocate can honestly promise one.
Urgent matters do not follow court hours. Where an arrest, a remand or an urgent bail application is involved, the chamber can be reached outside them.
